Help Them Make It Through

Remembering the bereaved of Charleston, 2015.
Help Them Make It Through
Dearest Friends, I wrote this poem in 2012, but revised it recently on behalf of the dear family, friends and loved ones of the dear souls who lost their lives in the terrible massacre at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston recently. In times of grief, it can be very hard for many to cope. This poem is in support of the bereaved and any who may have suffered the loss of loved ones in terrible tragedies such as this.

Though the media spotlight may be gone, thoughts of you remain in our hearts
~  GOD BLESS YOU ALL  ~

For Yesterday

file6331260680650

For yesterday ..
I thank You, Lord.

There were years that seemed
just like a dream.
There were life-changing scenes.
But I’ve come to know
that You allowed me to go
through that maze,
those difficult days,
You were there always.

You helped me grow,
You kept me strong –
like a tree amidst the storms.

You had hopes for me
when the future I couldn’t see.
When I despaired,
so misty was the view
until I saw You,
looking down from heaven –
showing You care.

Nothing compares with Your love.
You saw my heart and
picked me up.

I owe everything to You.
For all You’ve done for me,
I’m grateful.
Lord, I thank You.
