Psalm 46: 1-2

In these trying times in which we live, there is Someone to Whom we can turn…God, our Heavenly Father. He is faithful and true.. able to sustain us, to carry us through – whatever may be the storm in our life, whether literal, emotional, spiritual, psychological, etc. GOD is our refuge and strength.

Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for your kindness and mercy towards us always. Help us in these difficult days to allow You to be our refuge and our strength. At times, we feel so weak, but You are strong always. Thank You that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we cannot depend upon ourselves, thank You that we CAN depend on You. May our faith and trust in You, and Your holy Word, grow day by day, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You Lord, Amen.

Uphold Me

Uphold me, dear Lord
Guide my feet, lest I fall
Help me never to stumble
And never to stall.
Please help me to trust
In Your goodness alone
Lord help me each day
Not to walk on my own.

For there is no fault Lord
Or failure in You
And there is no limit
To what You can do.
Please wrap me, enfold me
O Lord in your arms ~
Blow storms away, Lord
Let the tempest be calm.

Let peace reign within
When anxious thoughts rise
So I may press on
For that heavenly prize.
Enthroned in my heart
Each moment, each day
Be glorified now and
Forever I pray.

Amen…

Centre of My Joy

Sunset (for Centre of ..)


From the heavens, Love looked down,
left His glorious robe and crown
to pave the way for all of humankind.
Jesus Christ, the sacrifice –
for one and all He gave His life,
all because God had us on His mind.

Mercy looked beyond my shame
and lovingly called out my name,
saying “I have come to give you life”.
Forgiveness came with open arms,
enveloped my soul with calm
and took away the inner doubts and strife.

Happiness evaded me,
until I came to Calvary
and looked upon the face of Him Who died.
Freedom broke the bars of sin
when I opened up to Him
and, in my soul, new tears of joy I cried.

By His grace, I walk this road,
thankful for the love He showed;
the peace He gives me, nothing can destroy.
Strength within, He gives to me
and words of life that set me free.
He’s my hope, the Centre of my joy!

He’ll Be There

Be strong and of good courage.
Don’t let the sights dismay.
He’ll be there in the battle.
He will not let you stray.

If the Lord our God is for us,
then who can be against?
For He’s our Mighty Fortress;
our Shield and our Defence.

No weapon formed shall prosper;
no judging tongue succeed.
In Christ we are forgiven;
our righteousness is He.

Hold fast to His mighty word,
for greater is He in you
than he that is in the world.
The Lord will see you through.

Where Shall I Go

 A wonderful refuge and shelter is found in the Lord Jesus Christ,
as expressed in my poem “Where Shall I Go?” above.

 “Whom have I in heaven but thee?
and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee”
(Psalm 73:25)

You Make Me Feel Special

You make me feel special,
You make my heart glad.
You look after me,
my heavenly Dad.

You know what I’m thinking
and hear when I pray.
You speak words of comfort
to guide me each day.

When oft I need someone
to hold up my hands,
You’re always there, Lord –
and You understand.

You show that You care
in the trials I face.
I know I can always
keep trusting Your grace.

You guide my steps, Lord,
as I travel this road.
You give to me rest
as I give you my load.

Dear Father, I’m glad that
to You I belong.
I thank you for blessing
my heart with this song.

Forever Love

 Forever Love will take you through the darkest night.
Forever Love will give you strength and be your light.
When doubts and fears assail and stormy seas you face,
with mercy and compassion, He will give you grace.
 
Forever Love will hold you up and won’t let go.
Forever Love will reassure you and you’ll know
that come what may, the word He speaks is firm and sure;
it stands the test of time and helps you to endure.
 
Forever Love says, “I can heal your wounds and pain”.
Forever Love says, “Drink of My refreshing rain”.
The Healer of the broken-hearted soul is He,
with promises of life for all eternity.
 
Forever Love says, “Come to Me, O weary soul”.
Forever Love will cleanse, forgive and make you whole.
His mighty arms are open wide, from east to west,
to comfort you and bring eternal peace and rest.
 
In Christ alone, you will find Forever Love;
the gift of God, sent to us from heaven above.

 If there’s one thing that’s certain in life – it’s the precious love of God. When all else fails … His love never does! It’s His kind of love, forever love, that sustains us through the mountains and valleys of life. “His mighty arms are open wide from east to west” – that includes everyone…. north and south too!!
