Tenderly

anniversary art beautiful birthday

Dearest Jesus:

Tenderly, You look into my eyes
Lovingly, You help me to arise
And when I hear the words You speak to me
You banish all my fears and I am free

In all my yesterdays, I’ve seen Your hand
And all along, You’ve helped me Lord to stand
Lord, I can face each day because of You
Propelled by love that’s faithful, kind and true

When burdens weighed me down and heavy loads
You gave me grace and strength along the road
You bid me hand them all to You in prayer
What peace I felt when, at last, I left them there

Site Change Coming ..

UPDATE!

Dear Friends

I hope and pray that you are well. It’s been a VERY busy year for me, yet again! I just wanted to write this short post to let you know of some changes taking place with my blog site.

FIRSTLY though …. can I say a big “THANK YOU” for visiting my blog and for your support over the years. I pray that the blessings of the Lord will be showered upon you.

I truly thank God for His precious love which continues to amaze and fill me with awe. His love continues to inspire me with more poems (and reflections too) and with a love and desire to share them, in the hope they will be a blessing.

But with even the very best of intentions, our plans often don’t work out the way we want do they? Or WHEN we want them to happen.  But that’s okay really – when we remember how God’s word says that “all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and them who are the called, according to his purpose”.

With all good intentions, I tried to have a separate blog to share inspirational reflections. As many of us can testify,  the  demands of life can be such that it’s difficult keeping up with things we plan. We just can’t have our hands in too many pies or be like an octopus! So…. with the thought in mind that I’d rather try to give more focused attention in few places than no attention in many, I intend to keep both my POETRY and REFLECTIONS here on this blog. Yes – by the grace of God, I’ll still be here!

However, this site name will soon be changingI will update you shortly with the details. You’ll still be able to locate this site should you use the current URL also.

Have a wonderful and blessed day … and I’ll write back soon!

Much love!
Christine

You Make Me Feel Special

Image

You make me feel special,
You make my heart glad.
You look after me,
my heavenly Dad.

You know what I’m thinking
and hear when I pray.
You speak words of comfort
to guide me each day.

When oft I need someone
to lift up my hands,
You’re always there, Lord –
and You understand.

You show that You care
in the trials I face.
I know I can always
keep trusting Your grace.

You guide my steps, Lord,
as I travel this road.
You give to me rest
as I give you my load.

Dear Father, I’m glad
that to You I belong.
I thank you for blessing
my heart with this song.

Thresholds

To simply make light of another one’s plight
Is like leaving them out in the rain
But from 0-10, we’re told to say “When”
So the doctor can find the pain
~
While one may get by, another may cry
Not everyone is the same
The soul is a place where we all need grace
Again and again and again
~
One soul may carry a load today
And then shed that load tomorrow
But what of the one who beneath the same
Also carries a load of sorrow
~
Some may be feeble, some may be strong
Some may be slow, or may speed
God knows how much each person can bear
And can help at our point of need
~
He knows our fears .. He bottles our tears
And encourages us to be strong
Forever to put our trust in Him
Believing it won’t be long
~
So whatever it is, whether great or small
Let’s listen with hearts of love
For “Blessed are the merciful” Jesus said
For they’ll have the same from above

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”

Glorious King!

pragser-wildsee-2955236_1280

O Lord, You are awesome! Glorious King.
Your love is so beautiful ~ You’re everything!

You draw me with words that enlighten my eyes.
The knowledge of You makes the simple one wise

To honour and fear You is wholesome and pure.
In You, I’m protected, in You, I’m secure

My mountains for You are a walk in the park.
You’re the Light of my life when around me looks dark.

Sometimes when it seems I am at my wit’s end
I know I can call on You, Jesus, my Friend

Unshakeable Refuge in trials and storms.
When life leaves me cold, Your love makes me warm.

You call me to come ~ in prayer to Your throne
With mercy You greet me and call me Your own

As long as I wait, never rushing away
Your presence sweeps over my soul as I pray

Dear Lord, You are awesome, my glorious King,
the joy deep inside ~ that makes my heart sing!

Psalm 46: 1-2

In these trying times in which we live, there is Someone to Whom we can turn…God, our Heavenly Father. He is faithful and true.. able to sustain us, to carry us through – whatever may be the storm in our life, whether literal, emotional, spiritual, psychological, etc. GOD is our refuge and strength.

Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for your kindness and mercy towards us always. Help us in these difficult days to allow You to be our refuge and our strength. At times, we feel so weak, but You are strong always. Thank You that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we cannot depend upon ourselves, thank You that we CAN depend on You. May our faith and trust in You, and Your holy Word, grow day by day, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You Lord, Amen.

Blessings and love always dear friends

Take Over Lord!

Let love take over when hate surrounds;
Let my heart be filled with love that abounds.
Let joy bring strength when I feel weak.
You’re all I need; Your face I seek.

Let peace take over that calms all strife;
Your peace from above, for You are my life.
O give me a heart, Lord, of longsuffering,
At times when I’m tested and tried to the brim.

Let gentleness, Lord, be a part of me.
Please mould me, as clay, to be all I should be.
Let goodness shine as the bright morning sun,
So darkness, by light, may be overcome.

Let faith come forth that will banish all fear.
Dispel all the doubts; let Your presence be near.
Let meekness, Lord, be what You will see.
Remove all earthly pride in me

Let temperance show ~ in all that I do.
Please help me to be a reflection of You
Each step of the way, in the journey I take,
Be exalted, dear Lord, for Your Name’s sake.

When the Road is Rough

rugged-2106709_1920.jpg

When the road is rough,
Hold on to the words of the Master.
When your pace has slowed
And you just can’t go any faster.

Put your hand in His
For He NEVER will let you go;
On a mountaintop
Or the lowest depths you know.

Just wait on the Lord
For He will renew your strength.
With wings like an eagle,
Friend – you will rise again.

When you wake or sleep,
The Lord watches over you;
Your soul He keeps –
His word is forever true.

He’s the King of Kings;
Jesus, your greatest Friend
He’s Alpha and Omega,
There from beginning to end.

The Way Called Love

rose-re-forgiveness

Can we forgive the yesterdays in each other?
Times gone by, when faults and sins were seen?
Have we a heart that’s melted by the Father?
One that knows it too was cleansed from sin?
~
Can we see the best in our sisters and brothers?
Or do we only see through yesterday’s eyes?
There is a better way, that’s like no other
And if we choose to follow, we’ll be wise
~
It’s the way called “Love”; it’s a heart that can forgive
It’s the way called “Love”; it’s the way that Jesus lived
And if we too, ourselves, would be forgiven
Then the way called “Love” is the way we should be living
~
If we choose that way, through faith in Christ our Saviour
Surrendering each day our will to Him
Then the fruit of love will show in our behaviour
And by and by, that love, more souls may win.

It’s encouraging and reassuring to know that what may seem hard for us is possible through the power of Christ, as we surrender our lives to Him. When He is Lord of our lives, all things are possible. It’s a daily walk, not just a one-time surrender. Self always seeks to reign, but as we deny that self and follow Jesus, His love in our hearts enables us – gives us the power to love and forgive. Oh we sure do need it! We surely do (I do!) and because it IS possible, Jesus taught His disciples about it. It helps when we realise that we too – in our imperfection – need forgiveness and, in His love, God forgives us when we humbly come to Him in repentance.
Through Christ, we can do all things (see Philippians 4:13).

Of love, Jesus said:
“A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
(John 13: 34)

Of forgiveness, we read, in the Lord’s prayer:
“‘…And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one’..
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you,
your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins,
your Father will not forgive your sins”
(Matthew 6: 12-15)
